Seven Peppers, Pastel, 13" x 18", painted on sanded paper

Seven Peppers was painted back in 1999.  It is my first painting on sanded paper, and it has served me well.  It was accepted into The Pastel Society of America's 1999 annual juried show (it is such an honor to get into that show), was published in the now gone (but excellent) Pastel International Magazine as a finalist in one of their competitions, and has earned me numerous awards locally.  It is still one of my favorite paintings.

Thanks so much Charlie, I really appreciate your stopping by! Right now it feels like I'm strolling down memory lane, as I'm posting some older paintings. It's kind of fun.....

I love this. Peppers are so gorgeous as still life subjects. You've created a beautiful composition and balanced them so well against each other. Love the shine on their glossy skins and the way color bounces back and forth between them.

Thanks so much Robert, I love peppers too, they're so colorful. I painted them from life, so they sort of rotted before my eyes, but I was able to get each one in believe it or not!

Thanks so much Jen, you're so nice. I really appreciate your stopping by. I sometimes forget how many paintings I've done over the years, this sure is reminding me! I'm not going to post everything, just the ones I think have some merit. Then it's on to the more recent works.
